JAKARTA, KATABABEL.COM — The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) presented an award to PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk for its contribution to the ESDM Earthquake Disaster Response Team in East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2026.
The award was presented during the 2026 ESDM Disaster Response Team Humanitarian Action Appreciation event at the Samaun Samadikun Meeting Room, Soemantri Brojonegoro Building, Directorate General of Electricity, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, on Wednesday (September 30, 2026).
Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Tri Winarno said the award was a form of appreciation for companies and organizations that contributed to humanitarian efforts and disaster response.
“The involvement of the business sector plays an important role in strengthening the disaster response ecosystem, particularly during emergency situations that require a rapid response and cross-sector support,” Tri said, as quoted from various sources.
The involvement of companies in the energy and mineral resources sector has become part of a collective effort to assist affected communities. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources recorded that 58 teams from 78 companies in the mineral and coal subsector had been deployed to the field as of early September 2026.
As part of the humanitarian response, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk deployed its Emergency Response Group (ERG) to assist communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Disaster Response Command Post.
The ERG team reached several areas, including Ende and Nagekeo, where it provided free health care services, essential food supplies, and various other logistical necessities needed by communities affected by the disaster. (*)
